Dear Dewey,
I know what you mean about "The Wall." But last summer, a friend of mine who was also in Viet Nam, came to stay with us for about a week.
Whiie he was here, we decided - on my wife's urging - to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angelfire, NM.
I was a little apprehensive, wondering how it would affect me - and it admittedly made me cry. But afterward, I had a good feeling about the trip. So, next time I'm in the Washington, D.C. area, I think I'll pay The Wall a visit.
Like John S says 'a galaxy far, far away' but sometimes it comes crashing back to the hills of TN, then it retreated to that far away place. I like it better when it's far away like a book I've read and put away.
Dear Dewey,
It could well be that we crossed each other's paths in Chu Lai. But mama mia - that was 44 yearsago (YIKES) and it sometimes seems as though it was "Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away."
But it certainly has always helped me put things in perspective since then. It takes an awful lot to get me worried or upset - after all, it's not Vietnam.
Dewey
I am doing good on getting this together. I want to thank you and everyone else out there that has helped us in this endeavor. I recently found out that the NOD I filed on his original decision should be decided by a DRO within the next 60 days. I won't submit any other evidence til we get that decision. This way it won't slow up the claim process by sending the file back to someone else
Thanks
